Service Case Studies: How Baosteel Tin Mill Products Timely Met UserĄ¯s Delivery Requirements

Background

Founded in December, 1993, Company A is a joint venture specialized in manufacturing three-piece metal cans with more than 300 employees and an annual turnover of RMB 200 million. Currently, the company has four coating lines, three double-color printing lines, two double-color printing and varnishing lines and one tinplate cutting line.

Service Overview

On August 6, one of Baosteel's customer representatives received a call from the purchase manager of Company, who demanded Baosteel Meishan Iron and Steel to produce and deliver tin mill products of 0.19*910MM as soon as possible.

Order deliveries to the client were originally scheduled for the end of August and the end of September respectively. However, given the fact that the client's inventory could only last for production of around ten days, Baosteel's customer representative contacted production units and functions immediately to ensure that the client could continue its normal production without supply shortages. Upon receipt of the request, the cold rolling factory of Meishan Iron & Steel immediately informed related production units to get ready for production. By readjusting its production plan and changing equipment, it was able to meet the deadline for completion of the production of the order before the downtime period for annual maintenance. Then, it delivered the order to the user within the shortest time to mitigate the user's production tension as a result of inventory shortage. Later, the user sent a letter of thanks to express its heartfelt gratitude.
